The Organizers - A successful partnership: FGV & Koelnmesse


In 2015 „Fundação Getulio Vargas“ (FGV) and Koelnmesse GmbH started their cooperation to stage the debut of UrbanTec Brasil in Rio de Janeiro. The country is home to the fourth biggest urban population of the world, 86.5% of Brazils population live in urban agglomerations, 170 million people live in Brazilian cities. FGV and Koelnmesse agreed that Brazil offers great potential to tackle the selected global challenge within the country itself and beyond its borders serving as a role model for Latin America and other emerging economies. Since both institutions have extensive knowledge and excellent contacts in the area of urbanization, FGV and Koelnmesse have chosen to join forces again and agreed to continue their cooperation. Together their credibility in the market and combined efforts will be sure to make UrbanTec Brasil in 2017 a success again.

Koelnmesse has been bringing people and markets together for more than 90 years. The success story of Cologne trade fairs began in 1924 with the opening of the first event on the fair grounds in Cologne-Deutz.
